You will need a minimum annual household income of £20,000 for a 1 bed and £23,000 for a 2 bed apartment.  A deposit and a monthly rent in advance will be required and full referencing checks carried out including an affordability assessment.

There are approximately 9500 people on Newports Common Housing Register,  and over 300 new applications are received each month. Only 1,000 or so social housing properties become available for letting each year...

Tirion Housing will be offering eight one bed flats and twelve two bed flats on the new Royal Victoria Court site (formerly Whiteheads steelworks site). To express an interest in one of these flats you must have an active housing register application on the home options website. If your application has not been activated you cannot be considered for these properties.
